Peter
C. Burckhardt, President.
Peter Burckhardt brings over 20 years of consulting, high technology
operating and investment experience to Burckhardt Consulting.
Peter was a key player in
launching an Enterprise Cyber Security company focused on Governance
and Compliance and served on its Board of Directors.
He was
instrumental in launching and supporting
two successful venture funded businesses. One completed its IPO and
was later acquired by HP; the other was acquired by SAIC.
Previously, he served as Director of Strategic Programs at a leading
Application Service Provider hosting Enterprise Software, where he redesigned
the product offering and initiated joint venture deals to expand internationally.
Earlier, Peter was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey and led projects
for European
Multinationals. For 4 years, he managed high technology
projects focusing on strategy and operations. He led an investment bank's
largest global technology project with 600 full-time employees and a
$200 million budget. The project met many complex internal and external
reporting requirements and was completed on time and within budget.
For a retail bank, he designed and led a nation-wide restructuring of
a 3,000 employee back-office operation that resulted in reduced operating
costs by over $80 million annually.
Besides working in the financial services sector, Peter also led engagements
for clients in the telecommunications and transportation
industries. Earlier, he was a supervisor at
a leading European communications equipment firm and worked as a technology
consultant at a
leading research lab.
Peter holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss
Federal Institute of Technology (ETH
Zurich) and an M. B. A. from the University of Chicago Booth
School of Business, where he received a Rotary
ambassadorial scholarship, led the Technology Management Group and majored
in Accounting and Finance.
