Peter
C. Burckhardt, President.
Peter Burckhardt brings over 20 years of consulting, high technology operating
and investment experience to Burckhardt Consulting. Most recently, Peter
was a key player in launching Agiliance
and served on its Board of Directors.
Earlier, Peter was instrumental
in launching and supporting ArcSight
and CloudShield,
2 successful venture funded businesses. ArcSight (NASDAQ:ARST) successfully
completed its IPO in February 2008 and was later acquired by HP (NYSE:
HPQ). CloudShield was acquired by SAIC (NYSE: SAIC).
Previously, he served as Director of Strategic Programs at Corio
(acquired by IBM, NYSE: IBM), a leading Application Service
Provider (ASP), where he redesigned the product offering and initiated
joint venture deals to expand internationally.
Prior to Corio,Peter was an Engagement Manager
at McKinsey & Co.
and led projects in the U.S. and Europe.
For 4 years, he managed high technology projects focusing on strategy
and operations. He led Credit Suisse First Boston’s (CSFB,
NYSE:CSR) largest global technology project with 600 full-time employees
and a $200 million budget. Complex internal and external reporting requirements
(e.g., SEC) were met and the project completed in time and within budget.
For a retail bank, he designed and led a nation-wide restructuring of
a 3,000 employee back-office operation that resulted in reduced operating
costs by over $80 million annually.
Besides working in the financial services sector, Peter also led engagements
for clients in the telecommunications and transportation
industries. Earlier, Peter was a supervisor at
Alcatel (NYSE: ALA),
Europe’s largest telecommunications firm and worked as a technology
consultant at Bell
Laboratories in
Murray Hill, NJ.
Peter holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss
Federal Institute of Technology (ETH
Zurich) and an M. B. A. from the University
of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he received a Rotary
ambassadorial scholarship, led the Technology Management Group and majored
in Accounting and Finance.
